For the Sudanese female population at the Iridimi refugee camp in Chad, a simple search for firewood outside the camps borders means risking rape and sexual assault. Lacking fuel to heat their stoves, women must leave the camps relative safety to scrounge wood in the neighboring environs are making them easy prey for assault. To combat this situation, Jewish World Watch, in partnership with KoZon Foundation, is sponsoring a program to expand access to solar-powered cookers for the 17,000 Darfur refugees at Iridimi and, in June, 2007, at the Touloum, Chad refugee camp
