Starting in January 2009, the National Legal Sanctuary for Community Advancement and law firm O’Melveny & Myers will conduct free continuing legal education (CLE) seminars for attorneys throughout the nation to provide training and guidance on representing detainees.

The programs will also facilitate mentoring opportunities between newly-trained lawyers and more experienced immigration attorneys & legal service providers.

Both initiatives aim to provide detainees with better information about their legal rights and, when possible, pro bono representation.
