The Visitor

Attend a Screening

The Visitor offers us a glimpse of the rarely heard stories of people in the U.S. at risk of detention and deportation. In reality, over 400 prisons and detention centers around the country now house 283,000 detained immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers every year. Some have fled persecution and are seeking safety and political asylum on our shores. Some are long-term permanent residents, many of whom have been in the US for years and are now facing exile. Most, like Tarek, pose no danger whatsoever to our communities.

You are invited to attend a special screening of The Visitor. Many of these screenings will include a conversation about immigration detention with speakers from one of our NGO associates. At each of these screenings there will be an opportunity to become an active participant in the social action campaign surrounding this film.
